  • still alive!

So, I've survived my first year of fellowship.  It's in hematology/oncology for those of you who don't know.  Basically, the study of blood disorders and cancers.  The way my program is set up, most of the busy/hard patient care is in the first year.  The other first year fellows and I all had a celebratory high-five and were incessantly giggling on the last day.  I do still have a few more "hard" months left, but I'm still standing now after the brunt of the hard work.  *high-five*

Apparently now, I have to decide "what I want to do with my life."  There are a few directions I can take my job/career and I guess I need to chose a direction now.  I don't want to get into details because it'll just get too boring.  Basically I don't know what I want to do.  The most people I talk to, the most confused I get.  I need help!  Pray for me. =D

  • inertia

my goodness, the xanga site has changed a lot in a year. it took me a few minutes to figure out how to even put in a new weblog entry.  *sigh*  i must be getting old.

so, i realized that i have major problems overcoming the initial inertia to get any project off the ground.  recently what i'm up against are the blank walls in our house.  we've moved into the house last june and are still looking at empty walls.  we do have a few paintings/posters that were up in our respective apartments, hanging out in the basement, waiting to find their new home on a piece of wall.  i think with this project, i'm intimidated by the permanent feeling of actually decorating our house.  i (we) will place our personal stamp and make our mark.  this artwork was important enough to be placed in the living room, for all guests to see.  that photo just made it to the bathroom wall.  what combination of shapes and colors will go with our furniture, room layout, and more importantly, what posters are just too ugly/old to bring up from the basement.  i guess we'll see soon, as i will try to make this my weekend project.  and you all can see when you come to pittsburgh to visit!

  • one year!

woah, i can't believe it's been almost a whole year since i've written on xanga. even now, i'm half falling asleep and jay is laughing at me as i try to revive my xanga site this late at night, half asleep.  i have been reading friend's sites (oaksusu) who have stayed faithful to xanga.  i can only make the weak promise now that i will try to be better in the future....

  • i'm still alive!

hi everybody. wow, it's been a while since my last post. about 10 months!  just to let you all know, i'm still alive here in pittsburgh.  for those of you who don't know, it's been a busy 10 months... i've gotten engaged, planned a wedding for 500 people this past st.paddy's day, gotten married, gone on a honeymoon, and are in the process of buying a house!

jay and i will be staying in pittsburgh for the next 3-4 years for fellowship training, so we decided to look for a house to buy.  if you're comparing to NYC prices, the pittsburgh houses are practically free (=P). haha...  we found a cute little house in a nice neighborhood that's close to some of our favorite restaurants, pizza places, movie theatre, and most importantly COSTCO!  hahahaha... jay thinks i'm a costco maniac.  i don't go that often... and i can stop whenever i want.  really.

we're planning to redo the kitchen and bathroom before we move into the house (if all goes well, by mid-june).  any house renovation suggestions?  anybody use home depot's contractors?

how's life with you all out there? =D
